Wells Fargo Cuts Jobs in Charlotte

San Francisco-based Wells Fargo is laying off between 3,000 to 4,000 jobs in Charlotte, North Carolina.The cuts will start in risk management and corporate investment, and are expected to be soft on retail jobs such as teller.
Wells Fargo is a diversified financial services company with operations around the world. Wells Fargo is the 4th largest bank in the US by assets and the second largest bank by market cap.
As of 2009, Wells Fargo has 6,650 retail branches, 12,260 ATMs, 276,000 employees and over 48 million customers. Wells Fargo currently operates stores and ATMs under the Wells Fargo and Wachovia names.
