Responsible for analyzing and/or administering security controls for information systems.
Responsible for inventory of all COMSEC accountability items within account scope.
Ensures COMSEC key is received, handled, controlled, stored and destroyed utilizing appropriate procedures.
Completes annual rekeys of network circuits and provides training to all personnel on a semi-annual basis.
Evaluates, analyzes, administers and maintains voice, data and wireless communications systems.
Reads and interprets circuit diagrams and electrical schematics.
Prepares detailed specifications and flowcharts for implementation of new internal systems or modifications to vendor systems.
Coordinates installation of equipment.
May Install, test, adjust and troubleshoot equipment as necessary
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
Bachelors Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training or work experience.
2-5 years of related COMSEC experience.
Experience in cryptographic security measures, emissions security, transmission security and physical security of aids and hardware used to protect sensitive data.
Demonstrated ability with keying, configuration and basic troubleshooting of TACLANEs and other COMSEC equipment.
Ability to coordinate various issues involving keying material directly with the appropriate Controlling Authority.
Knowledge in the standardization of all COMSEC related processes.
Must possess appropriate current DoD Information Assurance (IA) Certification to be considered for employment, either CompTIA Security CE, Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), OR CCNA-Security. CompTIA Security CE is the preferred certification.
If candidate does not have the current required certification, candidate must successfully attain the required DoD 8570 Information Assurance (IA) Baseline certification within three (3) months after their Hire Date; either valid CompTIA Security CE OR CCNA-Security certification. In addition, candidate must attain the required DoD 8570 Computing Environment (CE) Certification within six (6) months after IA Baseline Certification is obtained. After three (3) months of the candidate's hire date, failure to attain the required IA Baseline certification coupled with the computing environment mentioned may result in your employment ending with or without notice.
As part of your role/function on the program, you will be granted privileged user access. Privileged Users are subject to greater scrutiny as a direct result of the significant responsibilities placed upon them. Please be aware that because of these critical duties, you will be subject to additional IT system monitoring, and supervisory evaluation to ensure continuous adherence to Privileged User processes and procedures. Privileged Users are subject to a zero tolerance policy for security violations.
Because of the sensitive nature of the work being done for this government client, all candidates must hold a TS/SCI with a Polygraph.
