The SDR business unit is seeking a Wireless System Engineer to support efforts to define concepts, systems and architectures for 5G wireless systems specifically addressing advanced communication, signal processing and related architectures. Ideal candidate should have working knowledge of cellular and WiFi protocol stacks. The successful candidate will need to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment, and must be a self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of an Integrated Product Team.
Must possess good communication skills, both oral and written; technical leadership skills desired. Experience in developing wireless system level prototypes including both MAC and PHY layers and working with Xilinx FPGAs. Experience in working with customers to develop technical roadmaps and business strategies is desired. The ability to work across a broad spectrum of disciplines including RF engineering, communications, and digital signal processing at a technical level sufficient to translate customer needs into clear, actionable requirements and interface specifications. Position ResponsibilitiesDeveloping wireless system prototypes using SDRs and to test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements. Candidate will plan, design, and develop wireless sub systems for a highly complex hardware/software system and to evaluate and assess performance based on customer requirements. The candidate will support and evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces. Lead analyses and design activities to optimize total system architecture. ','!*!
MSEE with emphasis on wireless communications (PhD preferred)
Excellent communication skills
Experience with LabVIEW, C, and MATLAB
Experience developing wireless system prototypes using SDRs
Experience developing signal processing algorithms for Xilinx FPGAs
