The Teleport Operations Center (TOC) Technician is responsible for Level 2 troubleshooting of teleport and remote satellite equipment, adding/transitioning new circuits, and performing maintenance routines in a 24 x 7 environment.
Assist in the analysis, planning, development, testing, and implementation of new services and equipment.
Configure, maintain, and operate HPAs, LNAs, switching systems, BUCs, BDCs, Up/Down-converters, LNBs, ACUs, modems, and IRDs.
Assist both field technicians and customers in troubleshooting remote end equipment.
Update documentation, teleport plots, and trouble tickets as required.
Work with our vendors to coordinate, follow-up and document equipment in need of repair.
U.S. Citizen with an active U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain this clearance.
Ability and willingness to work in a 24 x 7 scheduled environment, which includes working night-shift, weekends, and holidays.
Associates Degree in an engineering or telecommunications based program, plus at least 4 years of experience in a related industry and position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with M&C Systems and the ability to configure equipment to run on these systems.
Strong professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability and willingness to travel less than 10%.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor, all-weather conditions.
Experience with iDirect and Vipersat networks preferred.
