SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the auditing and reconciliation of all Cost of Service invoices, filing billing disputes, processing vendor payments, and identifying opportunities for increasing profitability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Comprehensive audit of carrier invoices: Ensures that all billed lines and services are valid, Audits rates billed to ensure they are in compliance with contracts and applicable tariffs. Confirms one time charges and that credits are correctly applied.

Identifies opportunities to dispute / challenge billing from Cost of Service providers. Prepares details and files disputes with vendors according to vendor dispute policies.

Coordinates and communicates with Cost of Service suppliers on invoicing, including resolution of billing disputes.

Processes completed invoices after review, completes check requests for payment of each audited invoice.

Reconciles carrier accounts.

Tracks all historical activity related to Cost of Service vendor payments and disputes.

Identifies and communicates to appropriate internal departments, discrepancies and errors in company billing records so that resolution of internal issues is possible.

Maintains broadband service inventory

Responsible for the completion of GAAP compliant general ledger journal entries to accurately account for Cost of Service.

Responds to inquiries within the company as they relate to the billing status of lines or circuits.

Identifies and implements process improvements and enhancements.

Meets operational timelines established for the position.

Trains and mentors the Associate position

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance preferred; 4 years telecommunications experience; or combination of equivalent education and experience. Prior telecommunications cost analysis, accounting and/or vendor management experience required. Strong computer software (MS Excel, Access, Outlook, vendor portals), report analysis and generation skills required.

Required Skills:

Highly Organized – Ability to take something that is messy, chaotic, or unordered and rearranged it logically, into a structured or coherent layout, or into specific and/or defined groups.

Detail Oriented – Ability to process details and make a conscious effort to understand the actual cause behind an occurrence. Ability to monitor all relevant metrics to track the function’s direction and progress. Able to analyze all production factors to hone in on mistakes and curate a result that is error free.

Multitasking – Ability to juggle different work activities and shift one’s attention from one task to another. Able to meet the demands of several different stakeholders without dropping the ball.

Reasoning - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a selection of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Mathematical - Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, discounts and percentage, and the ability to interpret this information. Strong analytical skills required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to sit and work at a computer for long periods of time.

LANGUAGE AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read, write, follow directions, and possess above average listening skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of staff. Negotiation skills helpful.
