Telecom Analyst Job Description
The main purpose of the Telecom Analyst is to service the requests from all North America Retail, BSD/Supply Chain and Corporate locations regarding the Provisioning, Expense Management, inventory control and Decommissioning towards Voice and Data Telecom circuits. Both Provisioning, inventory control and Decommissioning are part of Telecom Order Management. This position is critical towards new projects and ongoing BAU requests involving the consultation with internal IT teams, the Telecom vendors and then, the use of the Telecom vendor’s portals to proceed with the Order Management process. One of the reasons this job exist is that managing Provisioning and delivering that is critical to the business, as Retail Stores, Sales Office and even Supply Chain which are built or remodeled, must meet certain timelines for their 'go live' dates regarding their circuits (which besides Telecom, also include Fire and Law enforcement circuits). One of the other reasons this job exists is that managing Decommissioning and Inventory Management which is critical to the financial bottom line as this provides cost savings to the company with accurate and prompt delivery removing the billing components, in association to our Telecom Expense Management team member. Position will encompass support on upcoming Telecom Projects
Telecom Analyst Daily Duties
Analyze the requirements and facilitates the Provisioning of voice and data services via various Vendor carrier portals. Coordinates Order Management processes and procedures accurately and executes on time.
Inventory Validation/Management, archiving and track orders to completion. Accomplishes documentation and the precise records thereof.
Pro-actively manages delivery intervals. Oversees the service delivery of all Provisioning and Decommissioning providing communication of any delays to management.
Manage phone line feature changes. Analyzes, evaluates proper requirements before submitting an order.
Assist in potential construction issues and ensure requirements are in place for voice/data services. Communicates to our internal Construction department and Project Managers of appropriate needs.
Create Long Distance and Dial Plan Accounts. Works with Vendor to execute new accounts based on Project or new requirements.
Order Tracking from an expense perspective. Identifies, then translates to a common understanding the potential billing requirements to the Telecom Expense Management individual.
Execute telecom initiative for 2018 cost avoidance plans: Remove unused services in closed locations
Reduce telephone lines no longer in use
Disconnect redundant telecom services
Adding pots lines to Vnet Accounts
Maintain daily orders and support
Telecom Analyst Job Requirements
Minimum 7 years’ experience in related field-Telecommunications Life Cycle: Provisioning
Special Certifications: (CPA, Etc.)
Information Systems: (People Soft, Sharepoint, Total Document Management (TDM), etc.)
Strong working knowledge of voice/data products
Telecom Carrier Ordering Experience required
Prior experience managing telecom service delivery required
Proficient in the use of all aspects of Vendor Carrier Portals
Must have a full understanding of the Telecom Lifecycle
Ability to cross function between Provisioning and Telecom Expense management
