Responsible for maintaining a high-level of availability, reliability, and security for the Not-For-Profit Hospital Corporation's telecommunications system. Analyzes, plans, design, implements, and supports existing and new telecommunication systems including Mitel PBX / NuPoint Voicemail and related network hardware and software. Ensure best practices and procedures in telecommunications are in place for converged voice and data systems, digital telephone systems, automatic call distribution systems, auto-attendant systems, unified communications, and voice recognition technologies. Will be responsible for carrier vendor management. Works with other IT team members, including Help Desk, Desktop, Network and Application staff to prioritize and resolve trouble calls and to escalate unresolved problems to the next tier level of support. Assures that all telecommunication systems and associated equipment are operational at all times. Knowledge of key information technology infrastructure library (ITIL) processes such as help desk, change management, and inventory control.
Required Education and Experience:
Proficient knowledge of electrical, electronic or telecommunications equipment, systems and applications as normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience may substitute
Mitel telecom certifications, A , NET , CTP and a CCNA are required to perform the work as described above
Certifications such as a CCSP, CCDA, CCIE, MSCE, MCSD, FCNE, or CCNP are desirable although not a requirement of the job as described
Four to six years of field support experience with at least one year of telecommunications installation experience is required. Experience supporting VoIP, IP Telephony and Unified Messaging (UM) including Quality of Service (QoS), redundancy, architecture, engineering, implementation, troubleshooting resiliency, load balancing, creation of complex dial plans, call routing and trunk engineering is strongly preferred. Experience troubleshooting Linux OS is preferred
Practical experience in network designing, implementation and management of LAN/WAN Systems is also preferred
