DescriptionRole Summary:Cox Communications, Inc. is seeking a strong Financial Analyst II. Evaluates information and prepares monthly and quarterly results packages by analyzing trends in direct cost, operations, and other related areas. Identifies performance issues and makes recommendations to management for remedial actions. Performs financial modeling, analysis and reporting activities to support short-term and long-range strategic plans and operating budgets.\u00a0 Candidates must be able to take direction from direct report manager to ensure financial models provide accurate and timely forecast and facilitation of robust analysis.\u00a0 Additionally, candidate will coordinate with accounting, financial reporting, business operations, and other teams to incorporate drivers into models and properly analyze monthly results.\u00a0 Candidate must also possess a solid understanding of finance, accounting, measuring and reporting of key business drivers and variance analysis. Effective communication of information through executive-level presentations is essential, as are interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.Nature of work requires increasing independence; receives guidance on complex problems; Work involves periodic review of output by supervisor.Primary Responsibilities:
Performs financials analysis - Performs financial and operational analyses and identifies emerging trends.\u00a0 May include cost analysis, financial and expense performance comparisons, calculations of rate of return, cash flows, and forecasting/budgeting.\u00a0\u00a0 Additional ad-hoc analysis based on customer need.
Performs data analysis - Gathers and compiles data used for identifying business trends and provides recommendations. Accesses and manipulates data from company data systems and sources.
Performs modeling - Conceptualizes, prepares and presents economic models, analyses and recommendations.
Performs reporting - Develops and modifies financial reports and statements.\u00a0 Creates visualizations of extracted data.
Support financial and operational consultative services through collaborative partnerships - Identifies recommendations and supports facilitating changes; analyzes and reviews data and resolves questions and/or problems.\u00a0 Assists in policy development to support change initiatives.
Project Management \u2013 Participates and completes assignments to support project objectives.\u00a0
Effective Communication skills (both verbal and written).
2 or more years of experience required in related field (Finance, Accounting, Business, etc.).
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other financial tools.
Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization.
Build some PPT presentations.
Some advanced financial analysis.
Some Financial modeling and data analysis.
Some understanding of functional area supporting.
BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired (Finance, Accounting, Business, etc.)\u00a0\u00a0
Experience in telecommunications industry.
