A national provider of scalable, fiber-based technology solutions serving many of America's largest businesses and communications service providers.Direct the Sales Engineering activities with accountability for company-wide strategies and goals.Achieve results through subordinate managers responsible for successful operations of their assigned regions\/geography, partnering with sales teams on providing product\/solution needs that meet the customers\u2019 requirementsCoordinate Pre-Sales Engineering resources to support account activity to ensure revenue and strategic goals are achievedAssess, build and develop individual and team capability, ready to scale if neededCoordinate with Training to direct, develop and deliver technical and product trainingResponsible and accountable for business unit budget and staffing strategiesDirect a team of Sales Engineering Managers in the successful implementation, planning, solution preparation, and measurement of initiatives that are complex and strategic in natureEnsure Sales Engineering designs solutions adhering to company published standards while driving to low cost, high quality solutionsCoordinate and champion research and product roadmaps to develop and drive new additional revenue streamsActs as liaison with outside vendors & telecommunication organizations, investigating & analyzing new technology and strategies for commercial servicesFoster teamwork and mentorship among the Sales Engineering team to encourage solution sharing and knowledge transferInterface with Product Development and Marketing do drive collateral and product features required for achievement of sales revenue goalsAttend cross-department management meetings at various levels to act as an advocate and liaison for the Sales and Sales Engineering teamAssist various product groups in communicating to the field in a consistent and effective manner with regard to product road maps, Engineering releases and the effects on the commercial customer, and managing technical escalationsWork closely with medium to large customers to understand their needs and advocate on their behalf within product groups and engineering teams.Track weekly, monthly and quarterly Sales Engineering opportunity assignments and revenue potentialClose coordination is required with Sales to ensure that the Sales teams get the proper technical training and support from the Sales Engineering teamIdentify market trends and translates the impact of those trends for Spectrum and its customersBachelor's degree in engineering or related field, with 8 to 10 years of MSO\/telecommunications experience in Technology, Network Design and Engineering, and Project Management, or equivalent combination of education and experienceDeep knowledge of networking technologies required as the basis for making assessments of the future requirements of Spectrum products and\/or the impacts that engineering decisions will have on our customersExcellent customer facing skills, in partnership with sales leads and subordinatesExcellent ability to influence internal and external stakeholders and build consensusComfortable setting realistic expectations and managing a highly demanding and performance driven teamStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong conflict resolution and problem solving skillsMust be a strong advocate of sales while building relationships across business groupsTechnically capable to define specific product requirements and understand how they will affect customersAbility to attract, develop, engage and retain highly motivated and skilled team at various levels of the organizationIn depth understanding of customers business and application of Spectrum Business solutions in various environments and across various vertical marketsAdvanced technical understanding of service providers\/MSO network architectures and technologiesMust be able to multitask in a role with little supervision and many demands from various business unitsAbility to translate complicated technical needs to non-technical audiencesFinancial and business analytical skillsIndustry recognized network certifications such as MEF, CCNP, CCIP or CCIE levels preferred, but not requiredValid Driver's License, with satisfactory driving record and auto insurance coverage
