Wireless Infrastructure Engineer
supports a large federal agency’s Network Infrastructure on an infrastructure survey, design, and deployment team and will be responsible for the upkeep of the security posture of the wireless environment. Supporting the O&M, install, and lifecycle replacement, plus other network engineer and Wireless LAN technologies support. This position may require up to 30% travel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Designs and deploys key WLAN services including Guest Access, Secure Mobility, VoWLAN, and Location Based Services
Conducts wireless infrastructure technical analysis of compliance with CNSSAM TEMPEST/1-13, RED/BLACK Installation Guidance
Performs Site Surveys to conduct technical analysis of the network and wireless infrastructure at locations worldwide, to record/update system diagrams, rack elevations, and power requirements for network devices.
May require moderate CONUS and OCONUS travel
Experience performing wireless surveys using typical survey tools such as Ekahau or AirMagnet Wireless Survey Software and a Spectrum Analyzer to analyze collected RF data to determine cell boundaries.
Develops required BOM submissions dependent on standard maintenance.
Develops BOM or labor estimates as part of a Project Implementation Plan, for activities outside the scope of standard maintenance.
Installation projects include developing installation plans and/or SOPs to include estimated schedule/milestones.
Develops, designs, configures, and implements wireless data networks based upon the government's performance criteria and specifications.
Understands National Electrical Code (NEC) 2014, American National Standard Institute (ANSI)/National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70 as it applies to wireless network equipment and installations.
Conduct systems pre-test and acceptance tests to validate the designed performance criteria.
Provides transition, installation, follow on break-fix support and preventive maintenance schedules.
Maintenance and transition support providing technical expertise to design, install, remove, analyze, and test, to sustain the wireless infrastructure utilizing best practices.
QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications
Active Top Secret Clearance
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other related discipline and 4 years of experience or a combination of applicable education, certifications, skills, and 8 years of experience
Network or other Certifications needed or specialty experience:
CCNA Wireless, CCNP Wireless, CWNE, ACMP, ACMX, or ECSE are all relevant certifications.
Security CE (or appropriate DoDM 8570 Baseline Certification)
IAT Level II certification is required before start.
This position may involve up to 30% travel.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
Wireless technologies such as encryption and cyphers, Cisco Hyperlocation, RTLS, MESH, Point to Point, BLE, and autonomous access points
Demonstrated ability to develop complex, technical designs that clearly address customer requirements.
Experience performing wireless survey and design.
Experience with wireless survey tools for passive and active survey analysis
Experience with wireless modeling tools for predictive site survey analysis
Experience designing and deploying Aruba, Cisco, or Ruckus wireless products.
Systems integration and testing experience of wireless data networks
Experience with network switching and routing.
Experience with DoD network cybersecurity and DISA STIG requirements
Serves as technical resource at customer briefings.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to organize and facilitate planning and demonstrations.
Ability to track, manage, and ensure project tasks are completed in a timely manner.
Collaborates with other subcontractors at customer site for wireless integration into existing telecom/network infrastructure.
Must be flexible, decisive & proactive problem solver in a fast-paced environment Internal and external customer.

Technical Knowledge
Documents wireless infrastructures in the DoDNet Cable Plant Management System application, the NIPRNET and SIPRNET wall chart, and individual site system drawings, which include rack elevation diagrams and other equipment locations, etc., in Visio and pdf file format.
Wireless infrastructure SOP development, maintenance and repair status reports, configuration management documentation, operational instructions, and engineering specifications.
Wireless Infrastructure Site Survey Reports, SOPs, implementation plans, and preventative maintenance schedules
Produces detailed monthly activity reports.
Develops and delivers technical presentations for customers.
Supports Network Engineering design, operations, and maintenance to include installs, authorized service interruptions and more.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
