Telecommunications Engineer
The experienced professional we seek will manage the internal corporate phone system for Insperity's 2200 employees. You will directly plan and assist in the phone system migration from Cisco Call Manager to Microsoft Lync 2010. Additional responsibilities will include:
Manage and maintain Microsoft Lync 2010 phone system
Provide 3
rd
level telecom support for phone system related issues
Configure phone system features to meet the needs of corporate employees
Work with phone system vendor as needed to escalate support issues
Maintain proper documentation regarding the voice system configuration
Evaluate handset/headset deployment processes to streamline the setup of new employees
Work directly with Call Center Engineer as backup support for the Call Center application
Manage endpoint selection and the ongoing testing of new phone devices
Coordinate software upgrades to both servers and endpoint devices as needed
Provide direct end user support for 3
rd
tier issues if needed.
Provide expertise in how to better utilize corporate voice technologies
Qualifications
Education / Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.
Minimum of 3 to 7 years hands on voice telecommunications experience required.
Minimum of 2 years of VOIP/SIP phone system experience required.
Knowledge / Skills
Experience with recent voice over IP (VOIP) telecom systems.
Solid understanding of networking technologies (IP Networking, Ethernet, VLANS, Routing, MPLS, SIP Protocol).
Experience with enterprise call routing and dial plans a must.
Experience with SBA/SBC SIP gateways preferred.
Microsoft Lync 2010 experience a plus.
Voicemail experience.
Experience managing active and dynamic corporate telecom environments with a minimum of 500 endpoints.
Unified Messaging experience using software based client endpoints preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical end users.
Video conferencing experience a plus.
