During peak times and emergencies, call volumes are increased significantly and the operator may need to answer up to 100 calls per hour.rnrnThis position functions under direct supervision and established protocols, operates various telecommunications equipment including: Physician Answering Services, Radio Paging System, Fire Alarm Circuits, and other specialized circuits used for answering incoming calls, and monitoring equipment failures and security breaches.rnrnRequiredrnOne year experience as a Telephone operator using computerized equipment and familiarity with medical terminology is preferred. Highly effective verbal communication skills are essential to communicate with public, patients and the medical system staff; Proficient knowledge of typing is required to operate computer keyboards to perform data entry and to process calls in a timely manner.rnrnrnOther Skills RequiredrnExcellent interpersonal skills are necessary.
