Telecom Supervisor Jobs

A telecom supervisor performs inspections of work done by subordinates and contractors to ensure adherence to appropriate specifications. A telecom supervisor coordinates and participates in the monitoring and development of the installation and maintenance procedures. A telecom supervisor works with the telecom project coordinator to assess technical requirements of various construction/renovation projects and coordinate staff scheduling with customer requirements. A telecom supervisor is responsible for security of switch rooms and telephone equipment locations across campus and is also responsible for effecting routine and preventative maintenance of departmental vehicles and tools as well as calibration of test equipment. A telecom supervisor maintains data on monthly switch room and battery plant inspections and provides management reports. A telecom supervisor provides routine reports on repairs, order levels and productivity and recommends appropriate procedures regarding staffing, hardware stocking levels, and work organization to engineers. A telecom supervisor coordinates preventive maintenance visits and reports, appending recommendations for director. A telecom supervisor establishes and adjust appropriate stocking levels, effecting orders as needed for terminal equipment and associated hardware as well as installation and repair materials.

A telecom supervisor job requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in electronics or related field. A telecom supervisor should have 2+ years of supervisory experience, five to ten years' related experience in installation and maintenance of telecommunications. A telecom supervisor should have knowledge of operation and interpretation of telecommunications and electronic testing equipment. Excellent communication skills required.
