Position Responsibilities
Architect and implement new WAN infrastructure. Provide primary move/add/change support for existing sites. Architect design to allow VOIP rollout to new locations. Serve as primary router, switch, firewall, and WAN optimization administrator. Serve as secondary contact for Cisco call center support. Performs as primary contact for datacenter related activities.
Position Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree IT/Computer Science or equivalent experience
• CCNP certification or higher preferred
• 5 years hands-on networking experience (routers, firewalls, switches)
• 3 years IP telephony experience, preferably with Cisco solutions
• Knowledge of legacy PBX systems and migration paths to Cisco VOIP desirable
• Experience with telecommunication carriers (MPLS/PRI/Ethernet) required
• Cisco Nexus administration experience helpful
• Cisco ASA firewall administration required
• Riverbed Steelhead administration required
• Network monitoring, Solarwinds, SCOM, Grid Control desirable
• Strong vendor management skills required
• Ability to work with a wide range of circuit providers
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Exhibits initiative in identifying and proposing new tasks/projects to add value
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Must be able to exhibit tact and diplomacy, and maintain effective professional relationships
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to travel as required
