Arcticom is currently looking for a part time Radio Installer in Anchorage, Alaska. Under the General Supervision of the Project Manager or General Manager, Establishes communications systems by installing, operating, and maintaining voice and data telecommunications network circuits and equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Repair Two-Way radio communication systems
Configure and design systems to meet the needs of the customer
Program and align two-way radios
Use communications service monitors to trouble shoot and repair two-way equipment
Configure and maintain computer networks
Configure and maintain Telemetry and SCADA systems
Install and repair radio equipment for both public safety and underground mining
Ensures customers have all the information they need to operate the equipment
Installs, tests, repairs, and maintains base, Repeater, mobile and portable two-way radios and accessory equipment.
Installs and maintains electronic surveillance and security systems
Installs and maintains public address systems, electronic sirens, telephone systems, cellular phones, lighting stations, and other equipment systems.
Modifies existing equipment to meet present needs
Checks frequencies and solves interference problems
Provides technical expertise in the consideration of equipment and system needs and concerns.
Repairs and maintains test equipment.

Job Requirements :
Required:
Degree or equivalent experience: Associates degree in electronics
Years of experience: At least three (3) years directly related to two-way radios
Other certifications: FCC license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
General understanding and knowledge of the principles of two-way radio communication, design principles of radio equipment, closed circuit surveillance, security systems, cellular telephone systems and equipment.
Demonstrated ability to remove and install two-way radios and other equipment
Demonstrated ability to read and use schematic diagrams, interconnect electronic components into a functional system, and use electronic testing equipment and hand tools
General knowledge of computers and using monitors, meters and heavy duty equipment
Must be able to use soldering equipment, service monitors, watt meters, bucket trucks and forklifts
Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision
Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers
Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments
Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations
Preferred:
Degree or equivalent experience: Bachelor’s degree in electronics
Years of experience: At least five (5) years directly related to two-way radios

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system.
